Just in time for November, a month many of us dedicate to mens mental health, this fresh collaboration from Nike SB with 'Why so sad' aims to raise awareness for mental health in the skate community.

'Skateboarder John Rattray started Why So Sad back in 2019 as a mission to improve mental health in the skateboarding community. Speaking to Skateism in 2020, the Scottish skater remarked “I hope that one day we’ll be able to talk about depression, anxiety and even suicidal thoughts the same way we talk about a swellbow. I hope that each of us will have the skills to help ourselves and each other through the storm whenever things get rough.” Now, Rattray and Nike are coming together to promote mental health awareness with the upcoming Why So Sad x Nike SB Dunk Low. '

This dunk wears a light blue leather base with dark blue suede overlays for a cohesive contrasting upper - PLUS the cult classic tear away feature returns with the suede overlays, when removed reveal a layer of yellow underneath. The tongue features a mesh detailing with the Nike SB branding with a '?' replacing the usual Nike logo on the back. Both sneakers feature a different graphic on the lateral side with one including Why So Sad’s Predatory Bird logo on a bike and the other including it on a skateboard. The bird also appears on the shoe’s co-branded insoles doing a sad grab. The translucent midsole finishes off this iconic shoe. Best of all, a portion of proceeds from each pair are donated to Why So Sad's fundraising efforts.
